Who We Are

ImagineX is an immersive event designed for middle school students, along with their educators and counselors. Together, we'll explore the future of the creative industry and how artistic skills translate into real, in-demand career paths. From art and design to problem-solving, storytelling, and innovation, we'll show how creative talents are highly marketable and influence a wide range of fields.

Students

(Grades 6-9)

Curious? Creative? Not sure what you want to be when you grow up — or have a dozen ideas?

This is your chance to explore real careers that go beyond what you’ve seen in a textbook. From AI-powered design to tattoo art, podcasting, and virtual reality, this day is packed with careers you’ve never heard of — but just might be perfect for you.

Teachers

Prepare your students for what’s next
— not just what’s now.

This event gives you access to emerging career paths, tech-integrated creative industries, and insights you won’t find in a standard curriculum guide. Get inspired, gain tools to bring back to the classroom, and help your students make informed, empowered choices about their futures.

Counselors

Guide with confidence — and with the most up-to-date information.

The creative sector is evolving fast, and many students don’t even know what’s possible. This event connects you to professionals, pathways, and resources that will help you support every kind of student — especially the ones who don’t fit the traditional mold.

From First Reps to Big Steps: How Creativity Opens Doors

Gerard Durling is a creative entrepreneur who built his career by following his curiosity and taking on new challenges. What started as a childhood dream of becoming a pro wrestler led him into video production, live events, and eventually running multiple creative businesses. Along the way, he created Brick Headstrong, a widely recognized social media character focused on promoting health and wellness. Gerard’s journey shows how stacking creative reps (big ones, small ones, and the unexpected ones) can open doors you never saw coming.

Arielle Lane

Arielle Lane is an award-winning nature photographer and best-selling author who found her way back to the arts while embarking on her many solo adventures to Iceland. Her determination and resilience were tested as she endured unbelievable conditions to photograph Arctic foxes in their natural habitat. This experience catapulted her passion for wildlife and conservation, and in doing so, revealed her life's purpose: to inspire others to pursue their dreams with unrelenting vigor while using her lens to bridge the gap between humankind and nature.

Her poetry has appeared in New York Quarterly, The Paterson Literary Review, SWWIM, Redheaded Stepchild, and elsewhere. Her work won an honorable mention in the Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Prize and has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. She’s a writing coach, teaching artist, and assistant director of the Maslow Family Graduate Program in Creative at Wilkes University. She’s also a proud back-of-the pack runner (when not injured), newish hiker, salt-water lover, and mom of two grown sons.

Alongside performing, Tara is a dedicated music educator who works with students in public schools and community arts programs. She teaches jazz vocals, creative music-making, rhythm, listening skills, and self-expression, helping students understand how music connects to history, culture, and their own lives. Her teaching encourages curiosity, confidence, and creative risk-taking.

Tara has received national recognition for her work, including two Grammy nominations, the MTNA Award, a Jazz Journalists Association Award, and the Lebra Award. She regularly collaborates with dancers, visual artists, and musicians across many disciplines. Whether on stage or in the classroom, Tara believes music is a powerful tool for storytelling, community building, and helping young people discover their unique voices.
