Stefanie Colarusso
Paint, Visual Artist

Stefanie Colarusso is an interdisciplinary visual artist based in Northeast PA. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from Kutztown University and a Teaching Artist Certificate from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Stefanie works with a variety

of materials to create multi-layered works of art and site specific installations that explore memory, identity and place.

With over a decade of experience as a museum director, she has taught object-based learning and visual thinking strategies—an approach that continues to shape her practice as a teaching artist. Her work encourages students to engage creatively with

art, personal history, and the broader cultural landscape.

In addition to her educational work, Stefanie is a dedicated folk art practitioner with over 30 years of experience in the traditional Ukrainian art of Pysanky. This heritage craft was passed down to her by her paternal grandmother, a descendant of Ukrainian

immigrants. Stefanie resides in Jermyn Pennsylvania with her husband Michael and two children, Francesca and Jude.
